Perhaps to my own surprise more than anything, I have made it back for review #2. When, many, many years ago, I went sky diving for the first and last time, the instructor told all the naïve first time jumpers lined up to put their lives in his hand, that the first jump was not the hardest. It was actually the second. Because then, you knew how terrifying it really was to jump out of a perfectly good plane. To fall like a stone for 45 seconds before you found out if a thin sheet of material was going to stop your 250 kilometer per hour plummet towards a rapidly advancing earth. I have no idea if that same concept applies to podcast reviews but here goes, time to take the leap.

So this is the first of what I expect will be a totally irregular and completely ad hoc series of podcast reviews. We are all stuck in strange rituals at the moment and need good stuff to keep our brains active and engaged.
I am going to start with the Ezra Klein Show. This has been around sine 2016 but has been a relatively recent discovery for me. The Ezra Klein Show is a great example of the slowly growing genre of long considered interview style shows, where time is really taken to explore complex issues, usually with a single guest. |
